Isidre Tolosa

Born in Barcelona on November 4, 1966. From the ages of 16 to 21 he works at the Marieta Tèxtil Warehouse, by the hand of Maria Cardoner, stirring fabrics, colors and patterns unusual for the time. Over the course of 18 years and until 2005 he works in the world of catering.

In 1996 he began drawing, composition and painting techniques with Gustavo Grünig, painter and ceramist. In June 2002 he made his first exhibition with the series “Peixos”, in the Silenus restaurant in Barcelona. It combines the learning of different techniques of engraving with the painting. Participates in different landscape courses in the Sanvicens School, taught by painters Teresa Llàcer and Àngel G. Llàcer. It is precisely in one of those stays, one evening in the hermitage of the Virgen de la Roca de Montroig del Camp, when in Francesc Grau speaks to him of Mariano Andrés Vilella, sculptor, teacher of stone carving and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona.

Since 2004, a great friendship has emerged amongst them, and deepening in the knowledge of the world of stone sculpture. Throughout these years, he has carried out different groups, including the Pérgamon Four Gallery and the Setba Foundation.

In 2009 he was one of the finalists in the 3rd Sculpture Prize of the Vila Casas Foundation with his work “Llibres”, becoming part of the permanent collection of the Foundation, adding later other works You are in the collection of the Foundation. From September 2011 to May 2012, he made the exhibition “Liquid and Liquid Stones” at the Museum of contemporary sculpture Can Mario of the Vila Casas Foundation. He has also exhibited his work in the Joan Planellas Art Gallery (Tossa de Mar – Girona), at the Fons d’Art Gallery (Olot -Girona), with the exhibition from December 2012 to February 2013, and at Art Libris 2014
